Though I really appreciate it when teachers give us work time in class, I find it very difficult to focus in school. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I am sleep deprived, so I am constantly tired at school. I often fight to stay awake, which obviously does not allow me to work very diligently. However, I do not want teachers to take away this work time, so I think I will try harder to be able to focus. Tomorrow in class I am going to work hard on my ethnography!!

Mackenzie I totally agree! Especially with your comment about how tired you are during the school day. Over the past couple of decades the amount of homework given in school has escalated to an almost impossible amount. We spend 6 hours of our day in school, and receive, at times, more than 6 hours of homework. This is especially true in I.B. With up to 12 hours of our day taken up by our education, we only have half of the day to get enough sleep, do work around the house, and other things we need to take care of. Work time in school is considered by teachers to be a gift that we would obviously take and use accordingly, but the reality is that we are too exhausted to focus. I know when I see that we have a work day or that we have a movie day I think sleep. I just wish that there was some way we could have enough time in the day to get everything done and get enough sleep.
